Message:
We are all trapped in the attachment of worldly things. Sometimes we feel ego while other times we feel despair, as we experience the highs and lows of life. Our final goal is to meet with Parmatma, but the Illusions of our worldly experiences prevent us from meeting our true goal.
Just by our own efforts and following rituals we can not meet with the Creator, Parmatma, and free ourselves from these illusions. We must be mindful that liberation can only be found in the sanctuary of a Guru. Without a Guru, the cycle of birth and death does not cease; one comes and goes experiencing the imbalance of feeling high and low; ego and despair.
One who is blessed is able to obtain Saadh Sangat, find a true Guru, and be in the constant remembrance of Parmatma. With the knowledge imparted by the Guru, one finds solace in knowing that Parmatma, the Creator, is supreme and protects us all. One accepts that everything is the creation of the Creator and therefore we can not pass judgment. The perfect devotee of Parmatma remains detached from everything whilst going about life.
Reflection:
How many times have we felt extremely pleased with our achievements or felt helpless and low during a difficult time in our lives? We must remind ourselves not to fall mercy to our emotions and attachments. We must try to remain constant, calm and patient; feel gratitude and humble when we accomplish something, but feel strong and resolute when we are going through a difficult time, knowing that Parmatma who is supreme to all and everything is looking out for us.
To obtain this constant feeling of calm we must obtain knowledge from our Guru. We have to first gain this knowledge before we can accept the lessons it brings us. After knowledge and acceptance we can move forward to surrender ourselves to a constant state of surrender to the Creator, resulting in lasting peace and true bliss.
