Message:
The month of Jeth becomes colourful for the one that endeavours to meet with Paramatma. Those that desire to meet the Creator are blessed, as the only real wealth is that of Paramatma’s name and love; nothing else is everlasting. Through the teachings of a Guru and the company of Satsang we are able to experience the colours of Paramatma within our lives and become one with the Creator. Once we tie ourselves to Paramatma, no bondage can hold us back. We then become liberated from all vices and influences of Maya.
Reflection:
Jeth, the transition period between spring and summer, displays the beautiful colours and creations of Paramatma. Everything is in Paramatma’s Hukum, command. We can not reach Paramatma on our own; therefore, we must be guided by a Guru. Through this guidance we nurture the knowledge, love and understanding required to become one with Paramatma. Bhagat Kabhir realized that without a Guru he would not be able to attain Paramatma. He had a desire to make Ramanand Ji his Guru and did not let the shackles of the caste system in society hold him back. Through his determination, Bhagat Kabhir was able to succeed in acquiring a Guru and set an example for others by removing the curtains of Vikars within them, helping to eliminate the ideology of the rigid caste system. A Guru helps show us how to develop the virtues of Parmatma and lift the many curtains of Vikars within us. We are then able to enjoy the many colours of the Creator.
