Message:
Paramatma is our true sanctuary. The only support we can rely on is that which comes from Paramatma’s grace. Once we completely surrender ourselves to the Creator, every illness of our mind is destroyed and the sins from our different lifetimes are forgiven.
Those that are in constant remembrance of the Creator are the fortunate ones. Those that trust Paramatma become fearless. Paramatma is our refuge through whose guidance we can eliminate our evil vices and eventually become one with the divine light.
Reflection:
The only constant in our life and thereafter is Paramatma. No amount of wealth or knowledge will be able to assist us during our afterlife; similarly, family and relatives will be of no assistance. Like Gajinder, we must remember that only the Creator can be our true support and aid. When Gajinder, who had become an elephant in a subsequent birth, was in his last moments and surrendered himself to Paramatma he acquired liberation. As an elephant he had not the virtues and intellect of humans and he could not rely on his great strength and others in the herd; his only saviour was Paramatma. Our only defender is Paramatma and only Paramatma can protect and save us.
